Privacy

This statement covers the Trust Ready website at trustready.co.nz, the free trust check, the free templates and Trust Ready accounts. We follow the Privacy Act 2020.
The short version
- The trust check runs in your browser. Your answers are not sent to us or stored anywhere unless you ask us to email your result.
- The templates run in your browser too. What you type into them is not sent to us.
- We only use analytics cookies if you allow them, and never advertising cookies or trackers.
- If you give us your email address, we use it only for what you asked for.
- If you have an account, your trust records are stored with Cloudflare in Australia, and only you can see them.
What we collect and why

Cookies
We use one kind of optional cookie: Google Analytics, to count visits. It is only set if you choose Accept in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. We keep your choice in your browser. We do not use advertising cookies. Signed in accounts also use one essential cookie to keep you signed in.
Who handles it for us
- Cloudflare hosts the website and stores accounts, trust records and uploaded documents in its Oceania region, in Australia. Australia has privacy laws comparable to New Zealand's.
- Stripe takes subscription payments and holds card details. Stripe is based in the United States and Ireland.
- Resend sends our emails: check results you ask for, password resets and the yearly review reminder. Resend is based in the United States.
- Google Analytics counts page visits. Its cookies are only set if you choose Accept in the cookie banner; if you decline, it runs without cookies. Google's advertising features are always off. Google is based in the United States.
We do not sell or share your information with anyone else.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected]. If you are not happy with how we handle your request, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
How long we keep things
Your account and trust records are kept while your account is open, including after you cancel your subscription, so you can still read and download them. When you delete your account, your account, every trust you own and its documents are deleted straight away. Deleted database records can remain in Cloudflare's automatic backups for up to 30 days, then they are gone. Trusts other people own and shared with you are not deleted, but your access to them ends.
