Trustee resolution template
A written resolution records one decision, agreed and signed by every trustee, without holding a meeting. Choose the kind of decision, fill in the details, then print it for signing.
When to use a written resolution
Trustees make decisions all the time: paying money to a beneficiary, lending to a family member, selling an asset, signing off the accounts. Each one should be written down. A written resolution is the simplest way when the trustees agree and do not need a meeting.
Unless your trust deed says otherwise, trustees must decide unanimously. That is why every trustee signs. If your deed allows majority decisions or has its own rules, follow the deed.
Tips
- One decision per resolution keeps the record clear.
- Check the deed gives the trustees the power to make this decision.
- For loans, keep a separate signed loan agreement as well.
- File the signed resolution with the trust records.
